In reality, there was a shepherd named Gregec, who had a younger sister. The sister could not pronounce Greek and called her brother Kekec. So everyone started calling him Kekec.\nAfter the successful stories, director Jože Gale made the first Slovenian feature film Kekec in 1951. In 1963 it was followed by the first color Slovenian film Srečno, Kekec and in 1968 by a third film entitled Kekčeve ukane.\n
