About the painter
Marjan Jelenc is an artist, academic painter, and graphic artist who has depicted the industrial landscape in relation to the individual in a virtuoso watercolor technique.
He was born in 1949 in Maribor. He graduated in 1974 from the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb under Prof. Miljenko Stančić. At the same institution, he completed his MA in 1976 in the field of graphic design under Prof. Albert Kinert.
He worked for a long time as an art teacher at the III. Gymnasium in Maribor. He is a member of both ZDSLU and DLUM and in his watercolors, he most often depicts the industrial landscape in relation to the individual.
